The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I’m legally required to see this movie for three reasons:

1. I read the book. The book is awesome. You should read it too. Definitely before you see the movie.

2. I am from the Pittsburgh area and spent my entire childhood enjoying the heart-in-the-throat feeling that comes from driving through the Fort Pitt tunnel into downtown Pittsburgh just like they do in the movie (check the 2:16 mark of this trailer):

Okay, well, I stayed inside the car, but still. If you’ve ever driven into downtown Pittsburgh from the airport, especially at night, you know what I’m talking about. And don’t say, “Pittsburgh? Really? How could anything be that exciting in Pittsburgh?” because it is. It just is.

3. I have to go and see all the ways they’ve screwed up the book. Naturally.
